Celebration of World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day on 6th October, 2025

World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day is observed every year on 6th October. Cerebral palsy is a neurological condition that occurs during or after birth due to various reasons. To create public awareness about the condition and its challenges, an awareness meeting was organized by the voluntary organization PUNARBASA, as in previous years

Parents of children with cerebral palsy undergoing therapy at the PUNARBASA Therapy Centre, Madhapur, attended the programme and shared their experiences. Shri Dilip Kumar Nayak, Administrative Officer of the District Head Hospital, and Shri Ashutosh Tripathi, Finance Officer, attended as chief guests and emphasized the importance of social responsibility and family care for differently abled children.

At the outset, Occupational Therapist Gunjansmita Behera and Physiotherapist Saishrita Mekap briefly explained the purpose and significance of observing this awareness day. The programme was conducted by the Chief Advisor of PUNARBASA, Biraja Routray.
